This is a story about the birth of Brinley, my beautiful niece! This was my first time photographing a birth and it is not something I will soon forget. To me, the birth of a child is the most beautiful thing on the planet, to be able to capture that beauty the way photographers do is something special. If you have had children you know that the day your baby is born becomes more and more cloudy overtime, some memories fade, others don’t. It isn’t that we don’t want to remember every single detail, but with the excitement, craziness, and everything else going on, it is hard to remember.
The day Brinley was born I received a call at 6 in the morning saying they where on their way to the hospital. Keep in mind, I live in Austin now, they live in Houston. So I very quickly packed up my things and left for Houston. I got updates on the way and about half way there we realized that I may not make it. Brinleys Mom was 7cm dilated, then 8, then 9. I was still about 30 minutes away when she was fully dilated and ready to push. I drove as quickly as I could and literally ran as fast as I could into the hospital hoping and praying the whole time that I would make it. Well, thankfully I made it just in time! Mommy was doing so great, Dad right by her side, and family all around. It was a perfect picture of love and support, the support every woman needs when they are about to push out a baby! Before we knew it a perfect baby girl entered the world, dark brown hair, perfect dimples, just perfect in every way.
The love and bond between and Mother is an incredible thing, all Baby Brinley wanted was to be in her Mother’s arms, feeling her warmth and love. To be able to witness and capture this moment was unforgettable and an honor. I am very excited to announce that I will be offering a very limited number of birth sessions next year. If you are interested in booking your birth session please contact me through my website.
