I promised everyone a little bit of an insight on how I did the mirror photo so here it is:) When Val came to me asking if I could do this I was a little hesitant because although I knew how to do it, I had never actually done anything like this before and the perfectionist inside of me was kind of freaking out. As you can see, we have the two photos on the left which is where the one on the right comes from. Obviously the photos where done at different times, so the most important part of getting this photo right, was to make sure that everything was in the exact same position in both photos and the lighting was the same. Without those two important factors, I would not have been able to create the finished photo. After we did the setup and first photo I had blue painters tape all over my studio to mark where everything was, so that when we came to do the second part everyone and everything was in the same spot. Once I had everything I needed the rest of the magic was done in photoshop.
I have always been a perfectionist with everything I do, which is what pushes me to do better and keep learning. Do I get frustrated? Yes, but that is part of growing and becoming better. I am a firm believer in if you are going to do something, then do it right. We can always improve, we can always be better, the question is, do we want to? My answer is ABSOLUTELY. I will always strive to be a better photographer and person than I was yesterday, when my clients come to me with an idea, I will do my best to give them what they want. I love trying new things, and will always do my best to make my clients happy. Once again, thank you Val for challenging me with something new and exciting!
