Yasmin’s Maternity Session

When a client requests a lifestyle session, I get a little bit nervous. I have had many requests for lifestyle sessions. Without sufficient lighting, space and area to shoot, I can’t guarantee my clients will love their final result. It is important to me that I feel like I can confidently provide my clients with beautiful photos. The photos they envision capturing when they are looking for their photographer. So once at the consult, the planning begins and the wheels are set in motion. Yasmin chose to do a beautiful maternity session and include some gorgeous boudoir and milk bath in her beautiful free standing copper tub for her Husband. Although I can’t show all the images, you can only image how beautiful they where!

Everything could not have been more perfect for this session. Yasmin has beautifully decorated her home and chose the perfect gown for the photos. Her session is a vision of elegance and perfection. The room had huge windows for the perfect natural light for this session. The copper tub was a deep, hammered elegant copper with a beautiful miniature chandelier above. The flowers for the milk bath where a combination of rich, bold reds, golds and purples with some greenery for added texture and color. Although Studio and outdoor are my usual maternity work, I can confidently say this is my favorite Maternity session to date.

Why should you book a Maternity session?

Women often have a hard time feeling confident, being pregnant makes a lot of women feel even less confident. It is important to remember that we are our worst critics. We have to try and get passed that level of discomfort and unhappiness with our bodies and remember that our body is working hard to make a person, right down to the last tiny detail of hair. What Women are capable of is truly a miracle and it is important to remember what pregnancy is really about. It is a temporary time in our lives that will in time give us some of the happiest memories of our lives.

Being able to look back and appreciate what your body went through to make this beautiful tiny person is something special. I often look back at my maternity photos, was my body perfect? NO Did I feel beautiful? NO Was I heavier than I would like, yes. But I did it anyway, not just for me, but for the little guy I was growing inside that would one day be able to see where his journey started, and for my Family. So no matter how you feel, if you choose the right photographer, they will bring out the confidence in you and understand how to photograph your body the way it is now. To accentuate the beauty of Pregnancy and Motherhood and make you feel as beautiful as you are.
